Events and Notices
Events
An event is a log of something that has happened to a managed device. Event severity levels are Critical, Major, Minor, Warning, Indeterminate, Normal. See Event Severity Levels for more information on types of event severity.
The following table describes the labels in this menu.

Description
Category
Select the type of event you want to view. Types are:
ALL - this displays all events
NODE - this displays events related to discovered devices
AUTO RESTORE - this displays events related to devices connected to the CNA Service port
CNA - this displays events related to the CNA
DISCOVERY - this displays events related to finding devices connected to the CNA
FIRMWARE UPGRADE - this displays events related to devices that have had a firmware upgrade
THRESHOLD - this displays events where device monitoring values are higher or lower than certain thresholds.
REMOTE ACCESS - this displays events related to the status change of device direct access connections, such as initiating direct access, connection timeout, and so on.
DEVICE CONFIGURATION - this displays events related to configuration backup / restore times and results for each device.
SYSTEM SETTINGS - this displays events related to CNC configuration
Search Constraints
Use [+] to filter an item to display exclusively and [-] to display everything except it. You can filter by severity, device name, IP address, or event name. For example, if you click [+] next to CRITICAL, then you will see Severity is CRITICAL X as the search constraint and the table will display critical events only. Similarly, if you click [-] next to CRITICAL, then you will see Severity is not CRITICAL X as the search constraint and the table will display all events except critical events.
You can also filter by timestamp. Click [<] to display events that happened before the timestamp. Click [>] to display events that happened after the timestamp.
You may create several sequential filters. Click X to remove a filter.

Event ID
This ID uniquely identifies the event. An event is a log of something that has happened to a device. The hyperlink takes you a menu showing details of this event.
Task ID
This ID uniquely identifies the task. An example of a task is firmware upload to a CNA. Use [+] to specify an item to display exclusively and [-] to display everything except it.
Severity
This displays the event severity level. See Event Severity Levels for more information on types of event severity. Use [+] to specify an item to display exclusively and [-] to display everything except it.
Time
This is the time that the event occurred. Click [<] to display events that happened before the timestamp. Click [>] to display events that happened after the timestamp.
System Name
This is the name of the managed device that caused the event. Use [+] to specify an item to display exclusively and [-] to display everything except it. For non-auto-restore devices, click the hyperlink to go to device details at Site View > System Name.
Interface
This is the IP address of the managed device that caused the event. Use [+] to specify an item to display exclusively and [-] to display everything except it.
Event Name
This is the name of the event. Use [+] to specify an item to display exclusively and [-] to display everything except it.
Event Details
Click on Event ID in Events to display the following menu.

This displays particular event details.
Severity
This displays the level of severity of the event.See Event Severity Levels for more information on types of event severity.
Time
This is the date and time the event occurred.
Event Name
This is the name of the event.
System Name
This is the name of the managed device that caused the event.
Interface
This is the IP address of the managed device that caused the event.
Task Id
This ID uniquely identifies the task.
Log Message
This is the associated log message for the event.
Description
This may be some additional information for the event.
Notices
A notice is an email about an event. An event is a log of something that has happened to a managed device. In addition, not only can you acknowledge notices in Notices screen, you also can go to Admin > Mail Group to acknowledge notices.
The following table describes the labels in this menu.

Notice type
Select from Outstanding or Acknowledged and My notices or All notices. Outstanding notices are notices not yet acknowledged. They have an amber LED in MSP Portal and Organization View.
You can view notices just sent to you (My notices) or sent to you and operators of sites where you have at least Read privileges (All notices).
Search Constraints
Use [+] to filter an item to display exclusively and [-] to display everything except it. You can filter by severity, device name, IP address, or event name. For example, if you click [+] next to CRITICAL, then you will see Severity is CRITICAL X as the search constraint and the table will display critical events only. Similarly, if you click [-] next to CRITICAL, then you will see Severity is not CRITICAL X as the search constraint and the table will display all events except critical events.

Notices
A notice is an email about an event. Use the checkbox to select a notice.
Notice ID
This ID uniquely identifies the notice. The hyperlink takes you a menu showing details.
Event ID
This ID uniquely identifies the event. An event is a log of something that has happened to a device. The hyperlink takes you a menu showing details.
Severity
This displays the event severity level. See Event Severity Levels for more information on types of event severity.
Time
This is the time the notice was sent.
Responder
This is the person who replied to the notice.
Respond Time
This is the time the person replied.
System Name
This is the name of the managed device that caused the notice.
Interface
This is the IP address of the managed device that caused the notice.
Acknowledge
Use the checkbox to select a notice and then click this button to indicate that someone will respond to the event that caused the notice.
Acknowledge All
Use this to indicate that someone will respond to all events that caused the notices.
